The Best Drugstore Makeup

Today I thought I'd share with you my favorite drugstore makeup. I always get a ton of questions of what products I recommend for someone who wants to start off wearing makeup and doesn't want to go broke after buying a few products. When I first started wearing makeup all I used was affordable and drugstore products. Actually all of the products I will be showing you today I still use till this day and are some of my holy grail products. I'm sure you have spotted some of these products in my most recent videos. I'll break it down for you from what I first use to do my makeup to the last lipstick I use on my lips.

Concealer: LA Girl Pro. Conceal HD Creamy beige HERE

  • Before I apply my foundation I like to apply a primer to make sure my makeup stays in place and last a long time on. This NYX Cosmetics Angel veil Primer is great for that. It gives me a nice flat surface to work on and it actually keeps my skin matte.
  • This Foundation is my holy grail absolute favorite foundation, EVER! It's probably the best drugstore product I have came across. This product has a lot of claims including it's 24 HR promise. I haven't tried it for 24HRS but I have tried it for a good 13 HRS which is a full day for me and it has not disappointed. It's a medium to full coverage foundation, goes on matte and dries up completely natural on the skin. It also photographs amazing, and does not give me a flashback. Evertime I wear this foundation out (which is a lot) I always get a ton of compliments.
  • To conceal my under eye circles I tend to choose between these two products. They are both great to conceal and highlight. The LA Pro Concealer has a thicker consistency so its great for someone who is looking for a full coverage under the eyes. On the other hand Maybelline Instant age rewind has a medium to buildable coverage. I love to use this to highlight my face, I currently use neutralizer it's the perfect yellow toned shade.

  • I always prefer a translucent powder to set my foundation since I don't like to add any additional coverage or color to my face. This powder is great for that its also really light weights and goes on easily on my skin.
  • For bronzer this one has been a fave for a really long time. The formula is really great for a drugstore product. It feels buttery and it adds a natural bronze color to my medium skin tone. This is one of those products that works great for so many different skin tones.
  • This blush I can tell you I've purchased over 4 times. Milani Cosmetics has the best drugstore blushes of all time. Luminoso is a beautiful peachy blush with small hints of golden shine in it. This reminds me a lot of Nars Orgasm blush.

  • Brows on Fleek! haha I seriously cannot leave my house with out filling in my eyebrows. A great affordable pencil I've found that works great for me is this one by NYX. Its a double ended pencil with a spoolie. I love how thin this pencil is so you'll never really have that heavy handed, sharpie eyebrows problem with this product. I like having my brows the same color as my hair so black works perfectly.
  • When it comes to eyeshadows, this can be the most tricky product to find at the drugstore. I've tried almost every eyeshadow you can think of. I have two on top of my head that I have actually loved and would recommend to you guys. The first one is this recent launch by L'oreal Paris, La Palette Nude 1. I love the colors in this palette you can easily take your daytime look to a nigh out. The shadows itself are easy to blend and have good pigmentation. I do recommend using a PRIMER to help the shadows stay in place and last longer on the lids. You can also use concealer on the lids instead of a primer to help the shadows pop more and last longer.
  • My liquid eyeliner and pencil choice has pretty much been the same since I was 17 years old. This NYC Liquid eyeliner is highly pigmented long lasting and it dries up extremely matte.
  • For Mascara I tend to switch it up a lot but for the most part this one has been really good to me. It's my go to when I don't wear falsies or when I am wearing falsies and I just want to prep my lashes. It provides mostly length which is great for me since my lashes are short and full.
MILANI Lipstick: Matte Innocence- HERE
  • When It comes to drugstore lipsticks you have to so some hard core searching to find ones that don't smell like plastic and don't wear off an hour after applying them to your lips. Milani once again nails it with this great matte lipstick collection. The collection is filled with neutrals and deep vampy shades. It's a creamy matte formula which is great for those who dont like that ultra matte feeling on the lips.
  • This Maybelline Color Sensation Creamy Matte Lipstick collection is my absolute favorite collection this past year. The color range in this collection is absolutely beautiful. The color pay off in these lipsticks are incredible and they last a really long time on the lips. Probably the best drugstore lipstick formula that's out right now. This color in particular is one of my faves. It's that famous Kylie Jenner lip color everyone is after.

Baby It's Cold

I actually got this wool coat to take with me to London in a few weeks. OMG, London! Saying it to myself makes it sound so surreal since I've always dreamt of going there as a little girl. Which of course means I'm pretty excited to be going to the UK for the first time.  I'm planning to vlog my entire trip. :) I want to make sure I share this amazing experience with all of you. Now the coat, yes, lol I tried it on and instantly fell in love with it. The weather is pretty chilly in New York so I figured it was a perfect addition to this chic outfit. The faux fur collar really completes the look and I love how it easy it is to style.

I wanted to mix & match different prints and textures. I love neutrals and matching sets but lately i've been feeling super inspired and I wanted to have some fun with my outfits. Fashion is all about having fun and expressing your inner creativity. I'm excited to start exploring different styles and new trends.

A Drop of burgundy

Hey Loves,
Today I wanted to share with you another of my favorite fall makeup looks. In the midst of packing to move I found this beautiful eyeshadow 'Bitten" by MUG cosmetics. Its a gorgeous warm red almost burgundy color, perfect to wear all over the lid or as a hint of color under the lower lashes. I pretty much did my makeup around this eyeshadow color. You can watch the tutorial below. For my outfit I wore this stunning mock neck midi dress. I love the simple slit on the sides. I found this dress at Forever 21 while shopping for fall clothing. It's perfect to wear to work or a girls night out. The weather is currently in the 60s in New York, but I couldn't help it and throw on this beautiful off white jacket. My shoes are these super comfy laced up heels by Windsor Smith. One of my current favorites.

How To: Sleek High Ponytail With John Frieda® Hair Care

Hey Girls,
As most of you might have noticed, I removed my extensions and chopped off my hair. I love the fact that it's short but I can still get it up in a ponytail. One of my go to hairstyles for 2nd or 3rd day hair is a sleek high ponytail. It's effortless and really easy to achieve. This week I got to visit the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in New York City to have one of their hairstylist style my hair. John Frieda stylist Sebastian Scolarici was so kind and super talented. He showed me step by step how to get this look. With the help of John Frieda® products he was able to quickly take my basic ponytail from a day to night look in a matter of minutes. I loved the final result, here is how I achieved the look with 5 easy steps.

With Love,

-Teasing Comb
-John Frieda® Luxurius Volume Root Booster Dry Lotion Spray
-John Frieda® Frizz Ease Kera Flex Hairspray
-Bobby Pins
-Hair Elastics

Tip: Before you begin add John Frieda® Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Immunity Primer  for a perfect foundation frizz-free style.
Step 1: Spray John Frieda® Luxurius Volume Root Booster Dry Lotion directly to your roots

Step 2: Tease the base of your hair to create a lift.

Step 3: Brush the front side sections to meet the back ponytail. Tie it with your elastic band.

Step 4: With your fingers tease the top part of your ponytail.

Step 5: Complete the look with John Frieda® Frizz Ease KeraFLEX Flexible hold Hairspray for an undone look.

Bloglovin' Awards 2015

I remember last year being on Instagram and liking all of these amazing bloggers pictures at the bloglovin awards. This year I was so excited to have been invited. It was like having my IG timeline all in one room. Bloglovin celebrates and recognizes bloggers from all over the world. From beauty to fashion, the place was filled with so many talented, and inspiring individuals. Prior to attending the awards I headed to the birchbox store in New York City to get makeup & hair ready.  The birchbox store is every girls dream place. From makeup to hair styling you can find it all. Birchbox has an awesome monthly subscription service. You can check them out HERE.
This was an exciting day and I can't wait to see what happens next year at the bloglovin awards.
Congrats to all the winners!

It's Dark Out

 Hi My Loves,
Todays look is very simple and sleek. I went to MAC Cosmetics and picked up new lipliners from their fall 2015 collection. My favorite was definitely Dark Out, a beautiful deep ruby lipliner, perfect for the upcoming season. I wanted to keep the eyes clean so I went with my favorite smokey eye. It was a beautiful combination and its quickly becoming my go to look this season. For my outfit I went back to basics, a taupe tank top with a black midi skirt. I completed the look with strappy lace up heels. It's been quite humid here in New York, once the temperature starts dropping we can finally bring out those knee high boots and chunky warm sweaters. Bring it on Fall!
